Restoration and Refinishing
Has your piano been neglected for a number of years?
As pianos age, temperature and humidity along with other environmental conditions affect the wood and components inside the instrument. Over time, sound boards and pin blocks can crack, tuning pins can become too loose, hammers can become compact and brittle, and the cabinet may dry out causing the finish to crack and check.
Key Piano Service offers all levels of piano restoration and refinishing. From repairing and replacing broken parts, to stripping and refinishing the exterior of the case, we are dedicated to restoring pianos to their best condition, and if possible, like new.
Restoring a piano takes fine craftmanship and expertise. Steve Oliver and Key Piano Service has restored and sold over a thousand pianos in the Greater Metropolitan New York area.
Upon completing your restoration, a maintenance program will be provided. This includes written warranties, follow up visits and fine tuning to insure years of trouble free enjoyment.

PIANO RESTORATION SUCCESS
This original white-lacquered 1930s Chickering Baby Grand (shown above) was brought to us for refinishing. After a thorough consultation, it was decided that the best approach would be to remove the old finish and, if the wood underneath was not in good condition, finish the cabinet in ebony black.
