This Gulbransen piano ( a familty heirloom) had multiple crcks in the sound board. Since a replacement of the board would exceed the overall value of the instrument, the customer requested a board repair. The next step will be to color in the shims.

1922 Weser Bros pinblock in need of replacement. This multi-layered block is delaminating and cracking, causing the tuning pins to lose their grip and no longer hold tune.
1929 Steinway. View shows old pin block (right) next to the new fiited one (left) and a new Steinway soundboard decal. Next steps are to install the harp(plate), drill the block and string.
